My review of a book titled... The Millionaire Next Door" by Thomas J. Stanley, Ph.D. William D. Danko, Ph.D.

Book review...The Millionaire Next Door on Goodreads

** spoiler alert ** Some takeaway observations I made in reading "The Millionaire Next Door". It was an attention-grabber for more than halfway through the book. That was up to the point of the section on purchasing cars. I felt that It was too, drawn out on the subject.
Perhaps I was looking for insight on how to improve one's self and to apply the doable methods of the "millionaire next door" in the hope of becoming him.
But then realized that my car ownership and methods somewhat fit the methods mentioned. Humm!

Taking into consideration the book study of Millionaires there is a formula by which to determine where you stand amongst the "wealthy class". This formula was given on page 13 which was as follows. Multiply your age, by your realized pretax household income from all sources except inheritances. Divide by ten. Now subtract any inherited wealth and this would be your net worth.

The top quartile for wealth accumulation is categorized as a prodigious accumulator or PAW for short. This would be the ideal category to be in. A prodigious accumulator of wealth is one who consistently saves and invests a significant portion of their income, substantial wealth over time.
Then there are those people who are in the bottom quartile, these are the Under Accumulators of Wealth also known as UAW. Finally, there is a group of people who enter into the Average Accumulators of Wealth called AAW.
Three words profile the affluent. Frugal-Frugal-Frugal and the book give very good details where this shines in the affluent's life in comparison with the UAWs and the AAWs who are not at all frugal.
Well, I do not want to give off too many spoilers. You really need to read The Millionaire Next Door. Hopefully, you will learn just what it takes to become one. Or at least know one when you discover the truth about wealthy people. Very compelling.
